## 18650 versus 21700 batteries

A 21700 battery is two times as powerful as a regular 18650/2300mAh battery. But, please note: a 21700 battery does not replace the 18650 battery. This battery can only be used in various flashlights that were specifically designed for this type.

## Emergence of the 21700 Li-ion battery

This battery was introduced by the electric car industry. Because of its long life span, high energy density and powerful performances, however, these electronics also ended up in the flashlight market.
