This DMT 6" sharpening stone is enhanced with a diamond-coated surface with the familiar circle pattern. The stone has a fine grain and can be recognized by its red colour. Made for every day sharpening: from sharpening blunt cutting tools to keeping already sharp knives sharp. The sharpening stone comes in a plastic storage box, enhanced with anti-slip feet.


## Information about the grain sizes of DMT sharpening stones.


The grain size of a diamond-coated stone and a water stone cannot easily be compared. This is because the construction and materials used are substantially different. With a water stone, the sharpening grains are incorporated in the stone. These grains are also released from the stone during use and become some kind of sharpening paste. With a diamond-coated stone, the diamonds are secured in the surface of the stone.


## Good to know


You can use the DMT sharpening stones with or without water. The advantage of sharpening with water is that the stone is lubricated and the sharpening residue is removed. Only use water, never oil. It is also good to know that a diamond-coated sharpening stone must be sharpened as well. A new sharping stone removes quite a lot of material. Only after 5 to 10 knives does the stone have its final effect.
