A Diafold stone has the design of a balisong, in which the handles fold over the diamond sharpening stone. This protects the stone perfectly. The stones can be used on both side with different grit sizes. 




This Hard coat material is equipped with special technology that makes the stone is even more sustainable when used with very hard steel types and ceramic knives.




**Information about grain size of DMT sharpening stones**
The grain size of a diamond stone and a water stone can’t be compared directly. This is because the construction and materials used are substantially different. A whetstone has the abrasive grains inside in the stone. These granules come out during sharpening which creates a type of sludge. A diamond stone has the particles stuck inside the surface of the stone.



**Important to know**
With DMT you can choose to sharpen dry or wet. The advantage wet sharpening is that the stone is lubricated and sharpening residue is drained. Only use water to sharpen and never oil. It is also good to know that a diamond sharpening stone should be used a couple of times before it reaches its full potential. A new stone will be a bit on the coarse side. After sharpening 5 to 10 knives it will work the way it should.

Erg handig om messen mee te slijpen voor onderweg. Ik gebruik het bij houtsnijden als ik kampeer. Het vouwt makkelijk op en de slijpstenen van DMT zijn van top kwaliteit (ik heb er meer van). Het opvouw mechaniek zou wat robuuster kunnen, maar voldoet wel aan mijn eisen, vandaar 4 sterren.
