The **Lodge Skillet lid for frying pans** ensures that moisture and flavours stay inside your frying pan. it properly seals off the pan, and the special tips ensure that the moisture returns to your dish. Perfect when preparing a stew, or to end up with the perfect chili. The handle ensures that you can easily lift the lid. It will heat up, so always make sure you take hold of the pan with an oven mitt.


## Maintaining your lodge lid


 As the pan is produced it is treated with vegetable oil based on soya. As a result you end up with a natural non-stick coating. And each time you use a Lodge pan, this non-stick coating will only become better. Maintaining it, however, is very important. Clean the pan after use with water and a little bit of detergent. It is not dishwasher proof. If there is still some left-over food sticking to the pan, scrape it off with a [pan scraper.](/en/pt/-lodge-pan-scraper-combo-set-scrapercombo.htm) Having trouble removing the left-over food? Simmer a little bit of water in the pan for 3-5 minutes. Afterwards you can easily scrape out any left-over residue. Properly dry the pan after cleaning it and add a small layer of [oil](kato://product/LG-L-Aspray) to the pan. Always make sure you store the pan in a dry place. Otherwise it can start to rust!
