Good rust eraser, bottom of my pan now looks brand new. Be vary of micro scratches than can occur. Material might need some polishing after using rust eraser.

A little messy, but certainly does the trick. For the specific job of removing rust from an otherwise smooth and polished surface, like a knife blade, it probably is the best option. It removes red rust very easily, with affecting the steel much, merely leaving a "brushed" look. It will not remove black rust (aka patina) easily, which might be good or bad, depending on personal preference.
