The **Robert Herder straight classic peeling knife** follows in the footsteps of Robert Herder's famous mill knives. This peeling knife is ideal for peeling fruit and vegetables. It can also be used for various other small cutting jobs. The carbon steel blade is sharpened by hand according to the traditional German "Solinger Dünnschliff" principle. The result is a razor-sharp knife. The carbon steel used for the blade is not stainless, so it needs to be treated with care. This means it must be cleaned and dried by hand after use. The handle is made from red beech wood, seamlessly attached to the blade with three rivets.

Very surprised at how poor this knife was, extremely light weight, so much so that you could bend it around, so didn't feel sturdy or strong at all. It was sharp, that was the only plus. To add insult to injury, took it out of the dishwasher and it's completely stained and ruined with what looks like a rusty substance. Absolutely useless now, fit for the bin....refund please.

Blade thickness is not 0.4 mm. but is 1.00 mm .

Fraai schilmes met houten heft en het vermaarde carbonstalen dunne en vlijmscherpe lemmet van Robert Herder. Een genot om mee te werken, snijdt zeer fijn. Wel altijd meteen reinigen en drogen na gebruik. Niet geschikt voor mensen die van gemak houden en zonder omkijken alles in de vaatwasser doen. Dit mes met aandacht gebruiken en behandelen (af en toe wat Robert Herder macadamia-olie voor het heft en een druppeltje Ballistol olie voor het lemmet en deze Herder straight classic 9,2 cm zal u jarenlang plezier geven!

Deze klassieker blijft natuurlijk top. Zeer scherp en vlot scherp te houden. Maar men moet er wel rekening met houden dat het mest gevoelig voor roest. Als men dat doet, een topper!

Heel fijn mes, ik gebruik het voor alle groente en fruit. Er is geen betere, ik wil nooit  geen ander mesje meer.
