Full description
The Yaxell Ketu chef's knife 24 cm is a Japanese chef's knife with a 24-cm blade. This makes it a real all-rounder in the kitchen. It's big enough to cut a large amount of vegetables, meat and fish. Yet despite the length of the blade, the knife is easy to control. This is thanks to its great balance and razor-sharp edge. The knife is also ideal for chopping herbs, crushing peppercorns and peeling garlic cloves.
Yaxell Ketu blade
The blade of the Yaxell Ketu knife consists of three layers. Two layers of stainless steel on the outside, enveloping a core of SG2 powdered steel. This is a very hard steel with a hardness of as much as 63 HRC! As such, you can sharpen the knife to razor-sharpness. The blade has a hammered finish. In Japanese, this finish is called Tsuchime. It is a traditional and artisanal Japanese finish originally created by the blacksmith's hammer.
Yaxell Ketu handle
The handle is made from pakkawood. It uses beech wood as its base and features a stunning black and gold-brown colour. Pakka wood is a laminate made of thin layers of wood impregnated with a strong synthetic resin. As such, it is very strong. So perfect for the handle of a knife. Thanks to the round shape of the handle, the knife feels great in hand. A decorative mosaic pin and an engraving at the end of the handle make it even more elegant.
Yaxell kitchen knives
Yaxell has been producing professional Japanese kitchen knives for daily use ever since 1932. They do so in the knife capital of Japan: Seki. Here they combine modern techniques, designs and materials with the historical knowledge and expertise of traditional swords and knife makers. Yaxell feels that a kitchen knife is an essential part of your daily life. A kitchen knife needs to be accessible and reliable, but it should also be a source of inspiration and enthusiasm. To achieve this Yaxell introduced a couple collections that are suited for everyone. The materials used provide you with a reliable and top-quality knife. Knives you will love to use every single day.
