The **Naniwa Chocera Pro sharpening stone grain 400** is a sharpening stone that will help you restore the edge of blunt knives. With this sharpening stone you can quickly restore a blunt or damaged edge. Great if you have owned your knife for a couple of years but have never sharpened it before.

## Naniwa Chocera Pro Collection

The Naniwa Professional series is now called Naniwa Chocera ProYou might be thinking: 'Wasn't that already its name?', and you wouldn't be wrong! This series used to be called Naniwa Chosera. Spelled with an 's'. Just a small change, but don't worry; nothing was changed in terms of quality. The packaging and the print on the sharpening stones are new.

## How to use Naniwa Chocera Pro Stones

The Chocera Pro Stone is made on the basis of bound magnesium. This is a superior production method that ensures the quality of the stones are unparalleled. The Chocera Pro Stones hardly absorb any water to make sure you only have to add some water before use. They don't have to be submerged in water. After use, it is key the stones properly dry at room temperature. Don't allow them to dry on the heater! Once dried store them in a dry, dark place. As such you prevent small cracks.

## About Japanese grain sizes

Sharpening stones are available in different grain sizes. The larger the number, the finer the grain. The finer the grain, the sharper the results. When you start sharpening you start with the coarse grain and continue towards a finer grain. Steps of a factor two to three between the different grain sizes are ideal.

**Indication for choosing the right sharpening stone:**

  * Grain 200 to 600: suited to restore the edge of blunt knives

  * 800 to 1000: to sharpen and maintain knives that are in good condition

  * Grain 2000 to 3000: for sharper results than upon delivery

  * Grain 5000 to 12000: for razor-sharp results

I've purchased other Naniwa Chosera Pro stones previously, and have been very happy with them, something which is really apparent when compared with other, lower quality stones. 

I was therefore expecting the 400 stone to be good, and I can confirm that it is. A friend gave me a good quality carbon knife to sharpen. t had become very dull due to frequent use of a steel. The 400 took no time in creating a new edge with which to work with. 

This stone comes highly recommended for a blade which is very dull. The change in sound and feel as the new edge is created is very noticeable, making it easy to know when the stone has done its job, and when it is time to move onto a higher grit stone.

Es gibt glaube kaum einen besser Stein für Schneidkante neu anlegen, Messer auszudünnen oder mit einem Kasumi Finish zu beginnen, sehr guter Stein mit vielen Anwendungsbereichen, top!!!
