With this **Shapton Pro Stone** you can quickly and very evenly sharpen your knives. This ceramic Japanese sharpening stone has a grain size of 320, which is relatively coarse. This sharpening stone will enable you to quickly remove a lot of material. Perfect for restoring a dull knife. The sharpening stone can be used to sharpen practically all knives. From outdoor knives to kitchen knives, and from pocket knives to chisels.


## Shapton Pro Stones


The colourful Shapton Pro sharpening stones are in Japan also known as *Shapton Ha-No-Kuromaku*. These particular sharpening stones are the thickest made by Shapton, with a thickness of 15 mm. As is common for Shapton the stones are uniform in terms of structure, with evenly divided ceramic grain particles. This ensures that you will always have even results. Because the stones are relatively hard, they quickly remove material enabling them to stay in great shape even longer.


## Shapton Pro Stones: grain sizes and colours


The Shapton-Pro sharpening stones come in different grain sizes. Each of these grain sizes equals a different colour. As such you will immediately see which stone you will need. The grain sizes and colours are as follows:

With the Shapton Pro sharpening stones you will have the right stone for each step of the sharpening process. From restoring a blade with the extra coarse 120 stone, to polishing a blade with the superfine 12.000 grain stone. 


## Using the Shapton Pro Stones


Each Shapton Pro sharpening stone works with a *splash & go* concept: cover the stone with a little bit of water and you are ready to get to work. You will immediately notice that the stone quickly removes any material. As such you will gets results quickly without wearing out the stone. These stones do not need to be soaked except the very first time after purchase. We do recommend that on first use, you pre-soak the stone in water for five to six minutes to secure even smoother sharpening.


Clean the stone after using it with water and allow it to dry. Try not to speed up the process with a fan or heater, but simply give the stone the time to dry thoroughly. When it is dry you can put it back into its case.


When you use the knife frequently it will, over the course of time, hollow out a bit. Fortunately you can easily fix this problem using a lapping plate.


## Multifunctional case


This Shapton Pro Stone is delivered in a blue plastic case, matching the colour of the stone itself. This case is not only great to store your stone in. After all, the case has edges with plenty of room for the stone. As such you can also use the case as a base while sharpening your knives. The non-skid feet attached to the case will prevent the case from sliding when you sharpen your knife. Finally, ventilation holes have been added in order for you to store your sharpening stone without ever having to worry about it. Even when the stone is still a little wet. Details that truly make a difference.

A true marvel. I already had a 1000, and these stones are the best I’ve ever had in terms of quality/price. My opinion with this new one is only reinforced — it’s excellent.

I use it after #140 atoma diamond stone. I like this stone best choice 

Après avoir vu plusieurs vidéos (sur FDC notamment) concernant les pierres à aiguiser, mon choix s'est fixé sur la marque et la gamme Shapton Pro. 
J'aime le "splash and go" (pas besoin de tremper la pierre), la boite qui fait office de support, les perforations au fond de la boite pour laisser sécher la pierre.
Ah, et j'aime aussi que mes couteaux coupent... objectif atteint !

Erg fijne slijpsteen. Je hoeft hem niet te onderdompelen in water. Af en toe een beetje eroverheen spuiten of gieten volstaat. Aan beide kanten te gebruiken en voldoende dik. Slijpen gaat relatief snel: er gaat snel materiaal van je mes af. Handig dat de doos ook dienst doet als basis voor tijdens gebruik. Het is een vrij grove steen dus vooral bruikbaar als je messen echt behoorlijk bot zijn geworden. Ik slijp mijn eigen messen vrij regelmatig en heb dan meestal voldoende aan de shapton 1000 (oranje). Dit is een erg fijne toevoeging aan mijn spullen voor de bottere messen.

Bought a sharpton pro 320 sharpening stone.and was not surprised by the quality of the product.what did suprise me was the quality service of knives and tools.i live in the UK ,so sometimes is awkward getting things shipped from Europe. Not the case with knives and tools. Placed the order and 2 days later received my package. Awesome costumer service and good prices. Definitely shopping here again.
