While not the best sharpening system that exist, it's the best "all in one" portable solution you'll get for the price. A great place to start your sharpening adventure, more than enough if you don't want to invest in more, and a great filler if you decide to invest in more pricey solution later on. Little tip : There is a metal pin near the handle that prevent the ceramic rod to be removed from the device. The pin can easily be removed allowing you to remove the ceramic rod from the basis if you need to use it without the guides. When placed back , the plastic tab in the base keep the rod in place by friction reasonably well.
