This is an excellent product for initial seasoning and ongoing care of cast iron cookware. It has a soft, oily consistency (similar to coconut oil at room temperature) and is easy to apply with a paper towel. A small amount does the job, should last quite a while. The mixture is food-safe and reaches its smoke point in a standard oven without excessive smoking. After three rounds of seasoning (plus the factory layer), my skillet passed the fried egg test perfectly. Highly recommended - does exactly what it promises and is reasonably priced.

Aangeschaft voor mijn gietijzeren pannen want die hebben nu eenmaal wel een beetje onderhoud nodig om er levenslang plezier van te hebben. Doet wat het moet doen, gemakkelijk in gebruik op kamertemperatuur en je hebt er telkens maar weinig van nodig dus kom je er geruime tijd mee toe.

Van Petronmax mag je natuurlijk verwachten dat ze weten waar ze het over hebben. Deze gietijzer seasoning voldoet daaraan. Niet heel duur en doet wat het moet doen. Het is een soort bijenwas die zich makkelijk en heel dun uit laat smeren. Je proeft het niet en gaat het lang mee. Geen spijt van deze aankoop.
